FRA is a nonprofit alliance organized by a group
of concerned fishermen who believe habitat degradation and lack of conservation have
greatly contributed to the decline of fish populations in Lake Norman. It is evident
among Lake Norman fishermen that crappie, white bass, largemouth bass, and stripped bass
have clearly decreased to a size classified as "poor". With a strong
membership complete with unity of purpose and interest, we can make a difference in the
management of aquatic life in Lake Norman.
Mission Statement
FRA has as its purpose to do whatever is necessary to
promote and oversee sound aquatic restoration and conservation to support viable and
healthy fisheries. FRA is committed to utilizing all available resources including
North Carolina Wildlife Resources
Commission, Duke Power, and
United States Fish and Wildlife Service to make Lake Norman a more valuable asset.
